Regarding the savannah sidebar links ... Speaking as one of the few active webmasters, I can say that I've always wondered why the "GNU Webmasters" project is so special that it needs to be on the savannah sidebar. I've never used any of those links myself. I concur with John that the whole section should be removed.
The "GNU Mirrors" link should either be removed or replaced by http://www.gnu.org/prep/ftp.html. The "Coming Events" link should either be removed, replaced by the link John gave, or changed to "What's New" and replaced by http://www.gnu.org/server/whatsnew.html. Personally I'd prefer removal. I think the "GNU Task List" item should be removed, since it's a subset of "Help GNU". Seems like "Dev Documentation" should be under "Developer Info". The "Free Software Directory" is not part of the "GNU Project", but I don't know how to fix that. Now that so many vc's are supported, is "Anonymous CVS" really worth having in the sidebar? The specific instructions on the project pages are much more useful IMHO. FWIW ... karl
