We had to block Zscaler from our infrastructure on May 4th. This was no
accident and everything is working as intended on our end.

We had significant traffic coming from Zscaler aggressively scraping and took
down www.gnu.org. This is not the first or second time that abuse from Zscaler
has taken down one of our sites.

When using a VPN, you have to be aware that your traffic is bundled with
others also hiding their identity. Calling the VPN a hyperscaler and targeting
corporate clientele does not change this. Some are doing so for privacy and
some are doing so to hide their identity while doing less-than-legal or
malicious activity. We generally love VPNs for the privacy aspect, but the
abusive traffic that we have seen from Zscaler and their competitor Zenlayer
is absolutely unacceptable.

Zscaler also reached out yesterday and I responded.
