Hi Karl & al. The nongnu approach might be reasonable. (But the request is not mine!)
My understanding is, the target project is time-constrained, and we have a lot to do as it is already. All that is needed is an official home for the sources. Cheers! ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Karl Berry <[email protected]> Date: Sun, Apr 7, 2013 at 11:56 PM Subject: [task #12545] Submission of Free Thaana WOFF To: Aljosha Papsch <[email protected]>, Steve White <[email protected]>, Karl Berry <[email protected]>, Ushau <[email protected]>, [email protected] Follow-up Comment #5, task #12545 (project administration): Hi Aljoscha - as you wrote, the evaluation process is http://www.gnu.org/help/evaluation.html. Steve's endorsement is certainly welcome, but does not automatically make this a GNU package. Only rms can dub new GNU packages (at the end of the evaluation process). The simplest thing here would be to treat this as nongnu for now; and if the author wishes it to be considered for GNU, he can submit it for evaluation in the normal way, per that web page.
