Follow-up Comment #6, task #16553 (group administration): Any Fingerhut write to me re: the lpc10 source code: ================= I have updated the files in this repository https://github.com/jafingerhut/lpc10
to have an explicit copyright notice on all C source files, and that they are released under the BSD 3-clause new or revised license. I also updated the top level README to mention some of the things you say in your email (I did not name you), and that my copyright and choice of license are conditional on those statements being correct. ================= and Fabien Coelho: ================= Delivered-To: [email protected] From: Fabien COELHO <[email protected]> To: Martin Guy <[email protected]> Subject: Re: Boring SoX copyright stuff Message-ID: <[email protected]> Hello Martin, "Sox" rings a little bell, from a very long time ago, probably much before 2015:-) I'm sorry for the legal mess, which is not my area of expertise. I'm happy to say that I hereby grant permission to use my code that is included in SoX for any purpose. In other words, from my point of view all my contributions to sox can be considered "public domain". Is that enough for you? Do you need more? Fabien. -- Fabien Coelho - Mines Paris - PSL ================= What I am thinking is to boilerplate a GPLv3 copyright notice at the top of every source file, assigning copyright to the Free Software Foundation with written underneath: "subject to the requirements of the previous copyright notice:" and whatever there was before. From my studies, none of them are "incompatible" with the GPLv3 but I'd appreciate guidance on the correctness of reassigning copyright in this manner. Legal consequences, frankly, let anyone who wants to study and contest incompatabilities between the GPLv3 and the ten or so licences (or lack thereof) do so. After all, I'd be the one to take the rap, having made the changes in prima persona, so Bring It On! :) I think I am bulletproof, but then doesn't everyone?
