My answer to him:
For your issue, there should be some sanity checks to do before we
consider a bug in the software.
First of all, you are experiencing latency issues. Liquidsoap operates in
real-time, so it has to process your script in real time. In case it is
late with regard to real time, then you may see the "catchup" log
messages.
However, usually, they are not fatal: liquidsoap is a bit late, but it
catches up and everything comes back to normal. This is in particular true
when outputing to icecast, since the output is buffered.
Latency is often caused by a high load on the server, so the first thing
that you should check is the load on your machine.
If the load is low, then we can start to look into the software for a
possible
bug.
