I don't think that we want to check for MP3 frames ourselves. This is the
job of MP3 decoding libraries, and possibly of libmagic.
But basically, what you're proposing is that all decoders only accept
files of the right format?
I like this solution since it allows to evacuate the tricky question of
the order of decoders. It only requires to change the MP3 decoder(s) and
possibly AAC and mplayer. A simple way to change would be to make them use
mime types through libmagic (which would not be mandatory for liq, but
only for mp3 and some external decoders).
Not that it would mean that the external mplayer decoder should be changed
to accept only a limited number of mime types. This list of mime types
might vary from one user to another: a parameter to enable_mplayer()
sounds like a natural solution.
