Transitions and other things will work as usual.
Turning the source into an active one will just make sure that the buffer
is consumed, so that no past data remains.
More into details, it means that if the harbor source is not used by your
output, the dummy output will consume the buffer and maintain a consistent
buffer.
By the way, I did a mistake, you probably better do:
{{{
playlistInput = (... definition ...)
output.dummy(mksafe(playlistInput))
# And procees as usual
}}}
I.e. just add a line {{{output.dummy(mksafe(s))}}} for each source you
need to turn active.
Eventually, since you're talking of transitions, you shouldn't use
crossfades with harbor sources since it consumes the buffer at a rate
supperior to real rate. However since is not the case in your script
apprently.
