 Thanks for your input. We are actually facing some design choices here. I
 think that it would be really nice to have a "small" ocaml lib that you
 could embed into any application as soon as you need to handle audio or
 video. With this idea in mind, I think that it is best if the library has
 no dependencies (to be easy to build / you don't want to be linked with
 video libs if you only require audio / etc.) For now it is only signal
 handling, which means no demuxing, no external libs, etc. So, we might
 actually consider having gavl, theora, etc depend on it...

 I think that it is best this way. However, I think that there is room for
 another library (named for ex ocaml-mm-io) which would handle all IO for
 multimedia data (libraries, formats, etc), would obviously depend on
 ocaml-mm, and could do what you have in mind! If you want to help...
