 As said before, I'm slightly reluctant to implement this because sources
 don't necessarily have unique IDs. Of course we could ignore the
 problematic cases (like in javascript's DOM, I guess) but I'd be happier
 to find a perfect solution :)

 We got interrupted last time when discussing this, I'd like to resume that
 conversation before coding get_source_by_id. Could you please show me a
 piece of code where you'd like to use that function, or perhaps an
 imaginary piece of code using it. If it looks like it's too difficult to
 do without get_source_by_id, then I'll be convinced.

 PS: I hope that Romain's hack the other day worked fine for you, after
 that I fixed that bug the next morning.
