Sorry, I remainined quiet so far on this topic.

I think windows portability is possible, however, the main issue is on the 
manpower side.

As for many things I once did, I now realize it is no use to start this sort 
of work if you can't properly maintain it. Not using windows, hence, does not 
help, and the real need in this situation is someone motivated to do that.
