Ok, thanks for the suggestion. I remember this idea being discussed at some 
point. For archiving purpose, we added the users mailing list to the mail-
archive service:
  http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
There, you can search for instance "savonet lame".

However, contrary to the forums, you cannot participate to an archived 
discussion. 

I don't think we have a strong opposition to the forums, but only that it 
needs an extra work that we didn't feel we could do by ourself.
