I am happy that this point of view is taken in mind....

Yes, however I wouldn't have this question ...

Yes also...

To my mind :
-* Even if liquidsoap is a scripting program... It's usable by people
without so much competences in computer science (thanks to the real examples
and your shemas, it seems easy to use and deploy).
-* If possible, the documentation should be separated in 2 parts :
-** Liquidsoap is a self working scripting language ... bla bla bla
-** Liquidsoap is developped in Ocaml and the possible devlopment of
liquidsoap extensions needs a knowledge of this language .... bla bla bla...
(explaining also why you are providing some ocaml extensions in you
repository etc etc)
I said it to you in Berlin and I didn't found the time to explain it really
to your team (It wasn't so important for the audience) but we have the same
problem in the development of SPIP (http://www.spip.net for thos who don't
know). We have our own template language which needs to be understood by the
common users to use the software, and the background technology is PHP which
is usefull to develop extensions ... So we have exactly the same problem you
have playing between our own language and the background language and
sometimes it's quite hard for newbies to understand it.
