I found an old message on encoding_format from savonet.rastageeks:
The format that works {I'm using 0.9.2.6):
output.icecast.vorbis(quality=1.4,samplerate-22050,stereo=false, . .
.,source)
I didn't notice the decimal point in quality -- it needs to be there.
