What is your OS ? What is your file system ?

Liquidsoap relies on ocaml's functions to detect whether the playlist is a 
directory or not. More precisely Unix's file stat wrappers.

What you could do if you have ocaml installed is try the following:
 * As command-line, type ocaml (or if you have ledit installed: ledit ocaml)
 * Paste the following expression:
(Unix.stat "/media/jingles").Unix.st_kind = Unix.S_DIR

The result should tell us more about what happens..
