I may be missing information from this thread but about reconnection: If liquidsoap is disconnected by an external problem and doesn't reconnect, it means you didn't set restart=true for your icecast output. If you're trying to get liquidsoap to automatically reconnect (reset) icecast outputs when the latency gets a little high (we must catchup XXX) checkout the root.max_latency setting (http://savonet.sourceforge.net/doc-svn/settings.html).
