This is normal. You need to install a conversion to allow the HTTP
input to produce mono. There have been a few mails on this topic, and
there's still an open ticket. The bottom line is that you should use
type annotations to make sure liquidsoap does what you mean, which is
a variable audio input wrapped in a conversion to stereo:

  audio_to_stereo((input.http(...):source(*+1,0,0)))

There has been a similar bug which Romain fixed before 1.0. I don't
have more detailed information in mind, but there's hope that
upgrading solves the issue.
