hello all,
i'm new to this list (well, i'm subscribed for a while...), and finally
have found the time to start over with liquidsoap last weekend!

i've a general question about interaction of liquidsoap with external
scripts.

i've some (php-)scripts executed by cron. these scripts return valid
URIs which then get "injected" into a request queue (with smart_crossfade
etc.). at the moment i'm doing this by sending a <my_source>.push URI
command to a unix socket. (i've made a little php class for server
interaction, based on various code snippets i've found in the wild).
that all works so far, but i'd like to know if it maybe would be better
to execute liq-scripts instead of using the telnet/socket interface?
i've read somewhere on the list archive that scripts are prefered and
server commands may dissappear, if i remember well. so, is it worth
start working on a more sophistcated php telnet/socket interface?
kind regards, udo
