Thanks Romain,

Although this is a bit moot now (I've reverted to 0.93), it still is odd
behaviour from ls 1.0.0. Wih my old ls 0.93 ( and also latest copy of  
0.93),
no error was detected, and it does not complain about an empty playlist.

I think the problem was with my copy of ls 1.0.0 - it probably did not  
compile properly.
Hence all the weird bugginess. My IP said he had an absolutely terrible  
time
with it along with a binary copy of 0.93. The next time with 0.93 he had  
no problems.
