Some more research showed that the ogg/vorbis libraries are not
at fault.

If I use liquidsoap from the previous (currently stable) debian
version (which is liquidsoap 1.0.1) it works fine with the same
system ogg/vorbis libraries.

So the problem must be in the liquidsoap vorbis or liquidsoap ogg
plugin (probably the latter one).
