Well, it's easier on a machine not using the new opam thing, or package management (well from source) to get ready on a known stable version. I can do without it, or rely on master for those needs, but it'd be nice to be able to target a liq version there too. I can live without it, clearly. Clearly, if opam works nicely and can target a stable version that is a seemingly cleaner solution to me. Use case was: wanting to deploy a liq instance on a new install from source, but still targetting a release to gather all the dependencies super easily. Think docker or general cloud provisioning.
