I configured GDM to execute my ~/.xsession config file (in "General"
preferences, "Default session" "Run Xclient script", don't know if
it's still a viable option with later versions as on Debian Sid, GDM
is stuck at 2.20) so I've never seen the 10 seconds delay.

About my involvement with Sawfish, I'm sorry to say that due to some
changes in my life I don't have energy or time to contribute to the
project. Well, mine wasn't a big involvement before, so you shouldn't
notice big changes... ^__^;
