This bird was banded as a 2+ male at Whistler Point (South) on 9/03/08 when it weighed 139g & had 25% breeding plumage. From the photograph it now appears to be in 100% bp! This is I think our earliest ever report of a northward migrating Ruddy Turnstone from outside Australia. That first of our recent visit to King Island certainly has been a bonanza for results - this was the catch that we had a birds with Japanese & Taiwanese bands.
