Jonneth,

I appreciate the response, and please be assured, I do not want to stop the
comments. I've enjoyed the discussion and just wanted to throw out a little
history. :).

I'm not real sure the AFSA people would want to course at one of my events.
I've read comments on this list, long before you arrived to liven things up,
that our courses were too short and "dangerous". We run very simple
courses, as someone else pointed out, most of our puppers are couch potatoes
and not the finely honed and toned hounds they were when they came off the
track.

My greatest concern is injuries on the course and preventing them. Training
our people, making sure they know what they are doing is the biggest thing
we can do to keep this from happening. From there, we have a wide world of
fun things we can do and places we can go.

So, please continue to discuss, ask and search, I'm learning now as well and
hope it continues.

Corin

own words from last week -- I certainly never meant to imply that anyone
should be kept from coursing at SCA sponsored events -- but it would be nice
to allow groups to course as an SCA group but also as an AFSA or whatever
sanctioned group. Which might simply be a local issue and not something all
groups want to do. I think the idea in discussing it here is to make it an
option. The interest in coursing is making a comeback and seems to be
spreading to areas where it has either never been, or in places it hasn't
been in some time. *Coupling* events would allow more people to enter
events, and would spark larger turnout. That was my only point!
