For what it's worth, I run the older dogs only on the straight, a 
nice looong straight. And they run alone. That way you can run the 
lure just for them. We just  ran Imp, who is almost 14 last weekend 
before the weather came in. She ran about 1/2 the track and then she 
was slow enough to sorta fall on the squawker. With a BIIIIIG happy 
grin on her face. Then she slipped her muzzle and got a death grip on 
the lure....

It made her month!

Just keep the lure out in front of them and have plenty of run 
out....slow the lure as they slow.
