Probably I'm just misconfiguring things or otherwise being dense. I'm trying to get my site going using Scalr.net but not having much joy.
I swear I've read the FAQ. - I set up a farm with a mysql instance. I set the mysql instance to use EBS, creating a new volume on launch. I asked it to auto-mount to /mnt/mysql. - After launching the farm I logged into the mysql instance, shut down mysql, and symlinked /var/lib/mysql to /mnt/mysql. I restarted mysql and created my databases. - I then synchronized the mysql instance. - After synchronizing, I terminated the farm. - When I restarted the farm, I expected the mysql instance to come up as I left it.
