How do you "Create a role for each application."? When you create application/domain, you choose which role in the farm will create A records in the DNS zone ( usually Load balancers or Application servers). If the farm is running and there are instances of this role running, these records will be created immediately. Otherwise A DNS records will be created for each instance that is coming up in this role, dynamically.
