Today I "synchronized all" on my new mysqllvm role. Surprisingly nothing
happened when the role completed synchronizing. I expected as usual for a
new instance to come up and existing instance to terminate when the new one
completed its startup.

Thinking of it...if there is only a single instance (the one that was
synchronized) this is a very reasonable scenario...there is no need to start
a new instance and terminate the current since naturally the current one is
up to date.

So...is this behavior the norm now? Or something went "wrong"
there...although synchronizing completed successfully.

I had another instance synchronized later (not mysql) but this one resulted
in the behavior I was aware of....starting a new instance and terminating
the existing.

Arie.
