You can disable PasswordAuthentication, since Scalr uses publickey auth method to access instance. Your problems most likely are related to a misconfigured Poller cron job. You should look for more information under 'System log' menu in Admin CP. Please also run testenvironment.php script from the shell to check PHP components.
