Dears, I am trying to install schooltool on Karmic but I am getting depency problems. I read on SchoolTool page it currently runs only on jaunty and Hardy, but I read also there is an ISO of 9.10 based edubuntu which have Schooltool in the distro, so I am wondering if is possible to install Schooltool on a plain Ubuntu 9.10.
I tried to do the obvious: Add the lines below to the software sources: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/schooltool-owners/ubuntu karmic main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/schooltool-owners/ubuntu karmic main them I refresh the software list and run "sudo apt-get install schooltool-2009". The problem is there are several unresolved dependencies. ... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: schooltool-2009: Depends: python-schooltool but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-schooltool.stapp2008fall but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages There are some way to installSchool Tool on Karmic ? best regards, --------------------- Miguel A.
