I did not say that it's rocket science. All I said is: CBs format is closed undocumented binary and they rely on Windows media for their video playback. This makes it hard to port it to anything. > It would be investigated to learn about the structure > of thats CDs with a software like Gaupol or a DVD ripper. Now I don't know what DVDs you speak of. The CB stuff is just a usual cbh on the DVD. > If this subtitle file be encripted, someone would renderized it in a > file of form of a timeseries. Just to make it sure: if you (or whoever) come up with some code that does all this and can be integrated into Scid, I'd have no problem to add it. But given the already open points on the list and the problems mentioned above I'll not dive into this stuff myself, especially as I'm no MM guy. Same applies to Julios idea of some OpenChessMedia. However, I'd doubt, given the current market situation plus the amount of work to set up a decent video of that type that it would take the market by storm and all people out there convert their stuff to it. (Especially the main content provider will surely not do it, I'd guess.) Still, I'm a fan of open formats and would not resist to add support to Scid. Again with the limit of getting working code that can be integrated without rewriting everything. -- Kind regards, / War is Peace. | Freedom is Slavery.
