I see your point; guess the answer is "no."

As to the use case: Is this a one-time effort only? I mean: If you 
develop the discipline to shift a D-marker each time you/opponent make a 
move, your games are always ready for export with diagram at the end.

Implementing your suggestion is pretty much trivial, but it would add 
another option/button, since I am not sure we all like what you need.
