What happens if you run the just the executable path in a terminal.  If
you see "Permission denied", it probably means you need to enable the
"Execute" permission.  I think Wine can run program files without the
executable bit being set, but since the engine is only doing console
I/O, it doesn't appear that scid requires Wine explicitly to run the
engine.

Alternatively, as suggested by Gilles Plume in a separate e-mail,
putting "wine" as the Command and the path to the exe as the Parameters
also worked, including without the executable bit being set.

Hopefully, one of these approaches will work for you, if it hasn't
already.
