Thanks for the advice but unfortunately I couldn't find anything
color-theme related in the WM config.

I am using openbox-3.5.0 with the default (clearlooks) gtk theme, which
is not dark at all. 

I tried changing theme options using lxappearance, I even tried
removing my .gtkrc-2.0 completely before launching scid but it didn't
make any difference. So I really have no clue on what could cause this
or how to fix it.
