Hi, I think Scid follows the same rule as any software : 20% of the functions are used 80% of the time.
For example, I added several functions to Scid, among them "Tactics" and "Tactical Game". They belong to the first 20% given the great feedback I get. On the other hand the "opening trainer" : no feedback, and it appears that even me ... I don't use it except for making sure it works. And consider that when you say "opening trainer" any tournament player will find it really appealing. "Opening" has the same effect on a club player than "sugar" to a dog. I spent lot of time on the "opening trainer", made the code as robust and efficient as I could (even handled transpositions between lines) and it seems that an "appealing" function turns out to be not that useful. So if you have any idea how to correct this or any comment (is the setting up too complex ? poor documentation ?), please let me know. The opening trainer is described here : http://prolinux.free.fr/scid/scid_newfeatures.html#opTrainer Pascal Georges ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
