Whenever I change some game and then try to leave it (say, press Ctrl-Down to go to the next one) I get dialog box:
Scid: New Game This game has been altered. Do you really want to continue and discard the changes made to it? [Yes] [No] I hate this dialog. First, in spite of I saw it hundred of times, I still find myself unsure which button to click. One must carefully read the text to understand what will happen. It would be *far* better if it was slightly edited, for example so: Scid: New Game This game has been altered. Do you really want to continue and discard the changes made to it? [Discard changes and go] [Return to the game] But still, even in such version this dialog does not offer an option which is almost aways what I want. This option is to save the game and go where I wanted: Scid: New Game This game has been altered. Do you want to save it before continuing, discard the changes, or return to the game to reexamine it? [Save & Go] [Discard & Go] [Return] Finally ... having seen this dialog hundred times, I do not remember even one case when I wanted anything else than to save the game and then go where I wanted. So it would be nice if I could fix such behaviour. This could be some preference setting, say Options/Games/Always Auto-Save, which - when enabled - would always save the currently edited game instead of asking this question. Note that by 'saving' I mean 'the right thing' - replacing the game in case it was already present in the database, adding new game if it was not yet saved. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
