Hi, The need for documentation and FAQ is indeed important. There is already a tutorial at http://scid.sourceforge.net/tutorial/index.html and in Scid's help menu there is an "hint" one, which is close to a FAQ. Maybe these could serve as a basis, and would avoid to start something from scratch ?
I don't know how a beginner feels with Scid, but I suppose many people are a bit lost, so "Scid for dummies" is also a useful thing, even if the embedded help gives some clues. Another point : it could be interesting to keep documentation in the same place, so maybe tutorial and FAQ could be made available in Scid by itself, through the help menu. Concerning languages, it is always a burden to maintain localized versions of help files, and to keep them synchronized.
