I think I pointed out this way to do it in my first mail.

Thinking about it, best games, however, has the drawback that it gives
access to the best games only and one can not search in this list for a
specific one (say by a player name). It has to be in the top 500 and
searching by hand is required. The games list offer exactly these
possibilities. Therefore, there's a slight difference in both ways to
get games merging.

Except Pascals new "Merge game to other base" you can also use the
"Browse game" from the games list, as the browse game window also
contains a merge button. I didn't think about it in the first place
though it is actually the way I usually merge games myself. Don't know
why I didn't think about it in the first place. Sorry.

I think it would be VERY valuable if you report those problems here on
the list. I think everybody here would want to improve Scid in every
areas possible and get it as close to the users (note the plural!) as
possible.

Acutally, most of the feedback I get as well is that some things are too
complicated, especially for a new user. Many people report that Scids
learning curve is a bit steep. However, till now everyone told me that
it was worth the effort. That's the good news. But we should get it
smoother anyway. (IMHO!)

The help files are a problem indeed. However, work is here in progress
as well. I think it would also be VERY valuable if we could get our
users involved here. I can see it for the small part of code I
contributed to the project: for me, some things are that crystal clear
that I don't even need to think about them. Yet some new users stumbled
upon them. I think, over the time I was able to remove most of all those
things that caused confusion. But it surely can improve, still.

(Sometime, however, I wonder if someone, except me, ever read the online
help for CC, but this is another story. ;)
