Dear friends,
I have used the chess engine
Stockfish<http://wbec-ridderkerk.forumotion.com/wbec-ridderkerk-news-info-f1/stockfish-glaurung-t402.htm>chess
engine which some claim is stronger than Toga2 (and which can be
downloaded here <http://www.mediafire.com/?mhztmwj5tmq>) and so far I am
very impressed by it's speed and strength. I have also heard about another
very strong open-sourced engine called
RobboLito<http://www.chesslogik.com/robbolito.htm>which some folks -
including a least one Rybka coder - accuse
of being a clone for
Rybka<http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=12995>(how
a closed-source application developer can accuse an open-source
application of being a clone is totally beyond me). The folks who designed
RobboLito are emphatically denying
<http://www.chesslogik.com/rybka3.htm>this. Still, I wonder about a
couple of things:
a) what licenses are Stockfish and RobboLito released under?
b) are their source codes available for download?
c) can RobboLito be compiled for x86 under GNU/Linux
d) how do these two engines compare to each other and to Toga2 and Rybka3?
Lastly is anybody on this list already using these two? *Does somebody have
a code or executable of RobboLito for GNIU/Linux?*
Many thanks and kind regards,
Andrei
