So far, my use of engines with Scid has been limited to dropping the .exe file (windows) into a directory and telling Scid where it is. I haven't messed at all with configuring parameters, UCI or otherwise.
I just downloaded Homer, however, and it doesn't work this way. when I try to use it I get an error that it can't open the default.sty file (though the default.sty file is in the same directory).
