I tried Scid-4.4.exe and indeed there is no sound since snack is not 
installed with scid.

Probably, you may try to install tcl/tk, install snack and run scid 
from source distribution (it is a tcl script) and if everything else 
fails, you can install Linux into VirtualBox and run scid in it.
