Long answer: In scid you can perform multi-column sorting, like for example in a spreadsheet: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/excel-help/sort-data-in-a-range-or-table-HP010073947.aspx#BMsort_by_more_than_column_or_row Clicking on a column header add a sort criteria: the tiny arrow indicates whether it is ascending or descending, the tiny number the order of the criteria. Clicking on a column header that already have the tiny arrow (is part of the sort criteria) toggle from ascending/descending. To restart the tiny number from 1 right-click on a column header and select "reset sort" Double-clicking on a column header is a shortcut for "reset sort" + click Example: 1) Right-click on a column header and select "reset sort" 2) Click on "White" column header -> descending arrow with a tiny "1" (Double-click on "White" column header is a shortcut for points 1 and 2) 3) Click again on "White" column header -> ascending arrow with a tiny "1" 4) Click on "Date" column header -> descending arrow with a tiny "2" If you scroll down you will see that most recent games played by Caruana (for example) with white are showed first ( instead of scrolling is usually more convenient to display only the games played by Caruana with: <ctrl+f> Caruana <return> ) End of long answer. Also note how fast millions of games are sorted: this is one of the features where scid is the first of the class, even better than commercial programs.
