Hi, the "Ask-to-replace" popup should burn in hell :) I hated it with all my heart.Imagine a text editor that creates a popup everytime you digit a char (do you want to insert a new char or replace the old one?).
I believe also that the pgnscid script was not particularly useful and a little dangerous: it's possible to import multiple png directly from the GUI and usually you really want a user to supervise such a process in case of errors.
- LOL, Ok, I agree the "Ask-to-replace" popup could be a pest :) The current feature below the main board performs a similar function without being as annoying. - I also agree with movement to make the scid codebase simpler, and after playing around with 4.6.1 a bit more, I can live without "Trial mode". Actually, I reminded myself how aggravating it was to be in Trial mode in game "1" in database "A", switch to game "2" in database "B", make what I thought were permanent changes to game "2", just to find out that "Trial mode" had followed me into the database "B": Grr! - I have used the pgnscid script for years in a daily cron job, one which I would prefer not to do by hand if I don't have to. So, maybe I will be the only one asking for clemency on behalf of that script ;-)
Cheers, and thanks for all the work you all do on this project! Okey Iwu
