Hi

It is well possible I'll get used reading tcl files so I may well be
slowly able to help a little in programming too. But we'll have to
see.

So I intend to read, in no particular order, the entire in-built help
system and offer changes to bring it up to date.

(Anything between angle brackets or guillemets <...> is something to
be clicked on with the mouse. Anything between quotes "..." is
something to be typed in.) For example,

Pgnscid:

pgnscid was a stand-alone command line program to convert a pgn
database into a scid database. It has been removed as it is no longer
required. Pgn files or G-zipped pgn files can be imported into an
existing database. For example, suppose you had a G-zipped collection
of rook endings in the file Rook_Endings.pgn.gz and wanted to convert
this into a scid database then do

<File> - <New> - (Save dialog pops up) - "Rook_Endings.si4" - <Save>

to create the empty database then do

<Database> - <Import ... > - <Rook_Endings.pgn.gz> - (another window
pop up) - <Close>

This imports the database and saves it immediately.

If you think screen shots would help I'd be happy to make these for the wiki
