Dear Educator,

The Education Department of the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum

Connections has been developed by the Adler in partnership with NASA
and builds upon the success of the National Mars Millennium Project.
The upcoming workshop series will provide you with professional
development in the teaching of gravity and related physics concepts,
such as mass and force, within the context of earth, space, and black
holes. Particular emphasis will be placed on integrating science
across the school curriculum.

As part of this exciting program, you will become a member of a
learning community of teachers from across the state who are learning
hands-on, integrated approaches to teach challenging concepts
required by the Illinois Learning Standards for science education.

Here are the benefits you will receive as a member of this program:

H Funding for substitute teachers during professional development days;
H A curriculum guide with guiding questions, activity ideas, content

H Training in an exciting, new online collaborative space developed
by the Adler;
H The opportunity to share ideas with colleagues in person and online;
