Thanks to funding from the National Science Foundation, NSTA has created a
three-year program to train a cadre of teachers to become Webwatchers. This
cadre--selected for their knowledge of science, education, and
technology--will research and select web sites which can be integrated into
science curricula, and they will share the fruits of their research with
other teachers through the NSTA web site.

Institutes will be held each summer at NSTA Headquarters
in Arlington, Virginia. Cadre members will receive travel and lodging
expenses, a daily per diem, and a $60/day stipend for the 11 days of the
Institute. There will be two sessions this summer, one for grade 7-12
teachers, and one for K-6 teachers.

If you would like to be considered for this summer's Institute, please
complete the application form located at
http://www.scilinks.org/nsfinstitute/ by February 15, 2001. You will be
asked to review a web page using criteria derived from NSTA's highly
successfulsciLINKS program, and you will need to clip and paste your c.v. or
resume.

The only criteria for the Webwatcher program is that you are currently a
teacher, grade k-12, and you teach in the United States. (The program is
funded by U.S. tax dollars).

>Participants will be selected by March 15, 2001. If you have any trouble
>completing the form, please contact Mark Davis <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
