Japanese Students Don't Enjoy Math, Science Despite high scores on international math and science assessments, many of Japan's students don't enjoy the subjects. According to a December survey by the Amsterdam-based International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement, Japan ranked No. 36 out of 37 in interest in math and No. 22 of 23 in science.
