EETAP NEWS RELEASE Guidelines for Excellence in EE Are Now Available Online! http://www.naaee.org/npeee/ The National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education (NPEEE) and the Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP) are pleased to announce that the full text of the Guidelines for Excellence in EE are now available online! The guidelines represent a broad and accepted consensus on what constitutes good EE and will help educators develop comprehensive environmental education programs that integrate across and build upon the high standards set by the core disciplines. �The guidelines were designed with the busy teacher in mind,� said NPEEE Project Director Bora Simmons. �Teaching EE can help teachers in every discipline improve student learning, and these guidelines make quality material more accessible.� The learner guidelines outline what students need to understand and be able to do to become environmentally literate citizens, and they are correlated to the national education standards for various disciplines. The materials guidelines help education professionals select and develop materials by describing the attributes of quality EE materials. The EE Collection is a set of resource reviews that provide guidance on the selection of instructional materials for teaching EE. And the educator preparation guidelines recommend the knowledge and skills that education professionals need in order to effectively teach about the environment.
