I don't exactly recall which Brother MFP I configured years ago, but it was an odd encounter. I'm fuzzy on the details, but this is approximately what I remember I went through. First I needed to go here: http://support.brother.com/g/s/id/linux/en/download_scn.html You need the right brscan package for your MFP. Then you need to run a brsaneconfig tool form that brscan package, where you provide the IP address or hostname of your MFP plus the name you want to give the device. And then it should work with xsane, simple-scan and gimp via the sane framework. -- kind regards, David Sommerseth
