This may not strictly be an SL problem but help would be most welcome. I have been using MATE (the continuation of GNOME 2) as my desktop happily for a while but a recent update has caused problems. Intermittently using the touchscreen workspace switcher causes a crash and a restart. On some occasions a dialog box has then appeared with a notice of a problem in mate-notification-daemon.
I realise MATE is not in SL's official collection (sadly, as I much prefer it to Gnome 3) but I have found I all too often need software not in that rather restricted set. Malcolm MacCallum
