Execute this in a terminal:
cat /var/log/gdm/:0.log > gdmlog
When I try that, my answer is
-bash: cat: command not found .
The same thing happens even for "ls", so I cannot see the contents of any
folder. I tried that cat command on the security terminal and on that
"ctrl+alt+ f2" terminal.
And post the contents of 'gdmlog' here.
